Brooks Koepka Reinstated on PGA Tour with No Suspension

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, Charley Hull to launch YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will remain linked to the competing circuit but needs more time for his family. This was reportedly agreed amicably according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he lacked at LIV. He originally joined LIV in 2022 fearing an early career end due to injuries and to secure a significant retirement fund. His choice not to play the final contracted season is thus not surprising, though questions remain about financial settlements and if he remains involved with his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation rises about where Koepka will play next. The DP World Tour would allow immediate participation, potentially with a penalty, while the PGA Tour imposed a one-year suspension after his last LIV event. However, permanent bans from former commissioner Jay Monahan have been relaxed, facilitating a smoother return. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which ended in 2022.
