Koepka’s Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns to compete, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting on February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was mutually agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives in high-level contests, which he found limited at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury-related concerns and to secure a substantial retirement fund, making his decision to skip his final contracted season less surprising, though questions remain about buyouts or salary repayments. Koepka remains the owner of the LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as the new captain.

There’s much speculation about which tour Koepka will play on next: the DP World Tour, where he might be eligible possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV start despite former Commissioner Jay Monahan having softened prior lifetime bans. The crucial question seems partly answered: according to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player roster after not renewing post-2022.
