Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh making a comeback, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was reportedly amicably agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level contests, something he found limited in LIV. He switched to LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns ending his career and to secure a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping the last contractual season is not surprising, though questions remain: Did he pay a buyout or return part of his guaranteed salary? Does he remain owner of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch?

Speculation grows about where Koepka will play next. The DP World Tour would grant immediate eligibility — possibly with a penalty — or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV appearance after former Commissioner Jay Monahan eased lifetime bans. Why hold grudges when a high-profile LIV returnee benefits the stronger tour? ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership after it wasn’t renewed post-2022.
