Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh is ready for a comeback, Charley Hull to launch YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

Expected: Brooks Koepka has officially opted out of the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain associated with the rival circuit but needs more family time. This agreement was described as amicable by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka is known to be a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he found limited in LIV. In 2022, injuries led him to join LIV primarily for a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping his last contract year is not surprising, though questions remain about potential buyouts or paybacks, and whether he still owns his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife about Koepka’s next playing fields: the DP World Tour where he might face a penalty but be immediately eligible, or the PGA Tour where he would serve a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, following a softened lifetime ban. Why be vindictive when every prominent LIV returnee benefits the established Tour? This question seems partly answered as ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka officially applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not extended after 2022.
