Koepka’s Membership Renewed: Back on PGA Tour Without Suspension

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aims for a comeback, Charley Hull to launch YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains affiliated with the competing circuit but needs more family time. This amicable agreement was officially stated by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he was lacking at LIV. Having joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury doubts about ending his career and securing retirement funds, it is unsurprising he skipped the last contractual season, though questions remain about financial arrangements and ownership of his LIV team Smash GC, now led by Talor Gooch.

Speculation abounds regarding which tours Koepka will join next: the DP World Tour, where he might be immediately eligible possibly with a penalty; or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV event after previously lifelong bans from former commissioner Jay Monahan were softened. Why hold grudges when reintegrating prominent LIV returnees benefits the established PGA Tour? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which had lapsed after 2022, seeking re-entry into the player ranks.
