Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aims for a comeback, Charley Hull to launch her own YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This amicable arrangement was stated officially by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on top-level competition and gets inspired during fierce contests, which was limited during his LIV tenure. He joined the Saudi venture in 2022 primarily due to injury concerns threatening his career and to secure a substantial retirement fund. Thus, skipping the final contracted season is unsurprising, though questions linger about any buyout or salary repayment. He remains an owner of the LIV team Smash GC, which already named Talor Gooch as the new captain.

Speculation rises about which tours Koepka will play on next — the DP World Tour where he could get immediate eligibility, possibly paying a penalty, or the PGA Tour where a one-year suspension has been in place since his last LIV appearance, recently softened from a lifetime ban. The PGA Tour has shown leniency towards returning LIV players who strengthen their competitive fields. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership after it was not extended post-2022 and to rejoin the player ranks.
