Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns Immediately to PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, Charley Hull heads soon to YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season that starts on February 7th in Riyadh. The five-time major champion will stay connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for family. This was reportedly a friendly agreement according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who gets motivated by high-level competitions, which he experienced less at LIV. He had joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure retirement earnings. Thus, skipping his last contractual season is not surprising, though questions remain about contract buyouts and his ownership status of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife about which tours Koepka will appear on next. He could immediately compete on the DP World Tour, possibly facing a penalty, or return to the PGA Tour where a one-year suspension since his last LIV event still stands, though lifetime bans from Jay Monahan have been significantly softened. Returning to PGA benefits the tour significantly. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his expired PGA Tour membership from 2022.
