Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns to the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager for more, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially opted out of the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time, according to official statements from LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, a fierce competitor thriving on top-level challenges, didn’t fully ignite within LIV, having joined in 2022 amid injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. Questions remain whether he had to buy out or repay part of guaranteed money, and if he retains ownership of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation centers on where Koepka will play next: the DP World Tour, likely immediately eligible possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since last LIV participation after previous lifetime bans were eased. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied to reinstate his PGA Tour membership last Friday, aiming to rejoin the player roster after 2022.
