Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Returns Immediately to PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to try again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season, which begins on February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he found limited in LIV. In 2022, he joined LIV mainly due to injury concerns about his career’s longevity and to secure a good retirement payout. Therefore, skipping the final contractual season is not surprising, although questions remain about potential buyouts or refunds. Koepka remains an owner of the LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as the new captain.

Speculation is rife about which tours Koepka will appear on next: the DP World Tour, where he would likely be eligible immediately, possibly after a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he must serve a one-year suspension following his last LIV event, after life bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan were softened. Returning LIV players, especially prominent ones, benefit the PGA Tour, which holds greater leverage. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported that Koepka filed a formal request last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which had not been renewed after 2022.
