Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf League season, starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was a friendly agreement, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is known as a competitive type, highly motivated by top-level competition, something LIV seemed to lack. He joined LIV in 2022 mostly due to injury concerns and financial planning for retirement, so skipping his last contract year is not surprising, though questions remain about buyouts or repayments. He remains owner of his LIV team Smash GC, who named Talor Gooch as new captain.

Speculation intensifies about where Koepka will play next: DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible likely with penalties? Or the PGA Tour, where a one-year suspension applies after his last LIV event but was significantly softened from previous lifetime bans? This key question seems partly answered: ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, which he had not renewed after 2022.
