Koepka Renewed PGA Tour Membership, No Suspension: Back in Action

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aims for a comeback, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting on February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major champion will remain connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for his family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka is known as a highly competitive player who thrives on top-level competition and rarely showed that motivation on LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns near the end of his career and to secure a good retirement fund. Thus, it’s no surprise he is skipping the final contract year, though questions remain about contract buyouts and his ownership of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will play next—whether the DP World Tour, where he could be eligible immediately (likely with a penalty), or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV event, after previous lifetime bans were softened. This crucial issue seems partially resolved. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally requested reinstatement of his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022, seeking reentry into the Tour’s player pool.
