Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aiming for a comeback, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka, a competitor who thrives on high-level contests, had limited motivation with LIV. He primarily joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns threatening his career’s end, aiming to secure a good retirement fund. Thus, his forgoing the final contracted season is unsurprising, though questions remain about buyout arrangements and his ownership of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation abounds on where Koepka will next appear—DP World Tour, where he could play immediately (likely with a penalty), or the PGA Tour, from which he has served a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, following softened lifetime bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. It seems the crucial question partly answers itself. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not extended after 2022, aiming to rejoin the player ranks.
