Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf League season, which begins February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time with his family. This friendly agreement was stated by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives in top-level competition, something he had limited motivation for at LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly because of injuries threatening to end his career and to secure a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping the last contractually obligated season is not surprising, though questions remain about payouts and ownership of his LIV team Smash GC, which appointed Talor Gooch as new captain.

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will tee off next – the DP World Tour, where he is likely immediately eligible (possibly after a penalty), or the PGA Tour, where he would serve a one-year suspension following his last LIV event after lifetime bans imposed by former commissioner Jay Monahan were softened. Why be vindictive when prominent LIV returnees benefit the more powerful PGA Tour? This key question seems partly answered. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally requested reinstatement of his PGA Tour membership last Friday to rejoin the player ranks following his 2022 departure.
