Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to play again, Charley Hull soon launching on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time. This friendly agreement was stated by LIV CEO Scott McNeil, though skepticism remains. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he lacked in LIV. He originally joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and the opportunity to secure a sizable retirement fund. Thus, skipping his final contracted season is unsurprising, although questions remain about possible buyouts or repayments. He remains the owner of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation rises on where Koepka will next compete: the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible—likely with a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, though previous lifetime bans have been softened under the new commissioner. It’s a strategic move benefiting the established tours to welcome back star LIV returnees. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the playing group.
