Koepka Renewed Membership: Back on PGA Tour Without Suspension

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returning, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka, a fierce competitor who thrives on high-level contests, was less motivated at LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injuries threatening his career, seeking a solid retirement fund. His withdrawal from the final contractual season is unsurprising, though questions remain on financial terms and ownership of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation abounds on which fairways Koepka will appear next: the DP World Tour with immediate eligibility (possibly with a penalty), or the PGA Tour, where a one-year suspension remains since his last LIV event, albeit significantly reduced from the lifetime ban imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. Why be vindictive when every high-profile LIV returnee benefits the longer-leveraged tour? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player field.
