Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aiming for a comeback, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf League season, which begins on February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major champion will stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This was amicably agreed upon, according to an official statement from LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, known as a competitive athlete who thrives in high-level competition, was less motivated in LIV. He originally joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns over his career ending and to secure a substantial retirement fund. Thus, foregoing the final contracted season is not surprising, though questions remain about any buyout or repayment of guaranteed money. It is also unclear if the 35-year-old remains an owner of the LIV team Smash GC, which has named Talor Gooch as its new captain.

Speculation is rife about which tour Koepka will appear on next. He is immediately eligible to play on the DP World Tour, possibly with a penalty fee, or on the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following his last LIV appearance, as previously lifetime bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan have been significantly relaxed. The key question seems partially answered: according to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022, to rejoin the playing field.
