Brooks Koepka Reinstated on PGA Tour Without Suspension for 2026 Season

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to play again, Charley Hull launching YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf League season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This friendly agreement was confirmed by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, a competitive type who thrives on high-level competition, was not fully motivated in LIV. He had switched in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. His refusal to play the final contracted season raises questions: did he buy out of the contract or repay part of his guaranteed salary? Will the 35-year-old remain owner of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch?

Much speculation surrounds which tour Koepka will compete on next—DP World Tour, where he is immediately eligible, possibly with a penalty fee? Or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, though lifetime bans imposed by former commissioner Jay Monahan have been softened. Is there a motive for leniency when prominent LIV returnees benefit the PGA Tour? This question partially answered: ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership that lapsed after 2022 and rejoin the playing field.
