As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the LIV Golf League 2026 season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major champion will stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka, a competitive athlete who thrives on top-level contests, was less motivated at LIV and joined in 2022 mainly due to injuries and financial considerations. Questions remain about the final contract year and his ownership in LIV’s Smash GC team.

Speculation is growing about where Koepka will play next—DP World Tour, PGA Tour after serving a likely suspension. Recently, ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, seeking reinstatement.

Koepka’s suspension would end in August, just before the 2026 season finishes with the Tour Championship. He would be eligible to play in 2027 as the PGA Tour rolls out a new schedule featuring limited-field, high-purse tournaments. Jon Rahm expressed confidence Koepka will return, possibly playing selectively in major events. The PGA Tour’s new \”Returning Member Program\” allows certain LIV players, including recent major winners, to rejoin without suspension. Koepka’s return was confirmed with eligibility for the Farmers Insurance Open and Phoenix Open.

Koepka’s penalty includes a $5 million charity donation and restrictions on bonus and equity programs. Meanwhile, Bryson DeChambeau confirmed participation in LIV Golf’s 2026 season with Crushers team but no contract extension announced yet. Vijay Singh at age 62 returns to PGA Tour for the Sony Open Hawaii using his career money list exemption.
