Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aiming for a comeback, Charley Hull launching soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but wants more family time. This was a mutual agreement, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s statement. But Koepka is a competitor who thrives on top-level competition, something he found limited in LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022, anticipating an early career end due to injuries and securing retirement earnings. Thus, skipping the last contract year is no surprise, though questions remain about potential buyouts or repayments. He also retains ownership of his LIV team Smash GC, which recently named Talor Gooch captain.

Speculation now swirls where Koepka will compete next: the DP World Tour, where he could play immediately, possibly paying a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where a one-year suspension since his last LIV event applies, somewhat softened from previous lifetime bans. Allowing prominent LIV returnees suits the PGA Tour’s interests. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, last active in 2022.
