Koepka’s Membership Renewed: Back on the PGA Tour Without Suspension

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager for a comeback, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf League season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was mutually agreed upon, according to official LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on top-level competition, something he found limited in LIV. He originally joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns and to secure a retirement fund. His skipping the final contractual season raises questions: Did he buy out his contract or return part of his guarantee? Is he still the owner of the LIV Smash GC team, recently captained by Talor Gooch?

Speculation revolves around where Koepka will play next: DP World Tour, where he could play immediately but possibly pay a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where a one-year suspension from his last LIV appearance applies, after lifetime bans by former commissioner Jay Monahan were softened. Why be punitive when a returning LIV star benefits the PGA Tour? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied to reinstate his PGA Tour membership last Friday and be readmitted after 2022’s non-renewal.
