Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants another go, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly agreed amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on top-level competition, something he had limited motivation for at LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a substantial retirement fund. Thus, skipping the final contracted season is not surprising, though questions remain about whether he had to pay a buyout or return part of his guaranteed salary. He remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, which has named Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation intensifies on which fairways Koepka will play next: the DP World Tour, where he would be eligible immediately, possibly with a penalty; or the PGA Tour, where he would have to serve a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, following the easing of the lifetime bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. It makes no sense to be vindictive when every LIV returnee, especially a star, benefits the longer-established PGA Tour. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported that Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which had not been renewed after 2022.
