Membership Renewed, No Suspension: Koepka Back Immediately on PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull launching a YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitive type who thrives in high-level competition, something he only partially found at LIV Golf. He originally joined LIV in 2022 primarily because of injury concerns and to secure a substantial retirement fund. Thus, skipping the final contractual season is not surprising, though questions remain about buyout or repayment of guaranteed money. He remains the owner of the LIV team Smash GC, which recently named Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation centers on where Koepka will next compete: DP World Tour, where he could play immediately (likely with a penalty fee), or PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance—after lifetime bans were significantly reduced by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. Returning to PGA Tour is beneficial to the established circuit, and recent reports from ESPN’s Mark Schlabach confirm Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership and join the player pool again.
