Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Returns to the PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to try again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. This was agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. However, Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he only partially found at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. Thus, skipping the last contractual season is not surprising, though questions remain about financial settlements and if he remains an owner of LIV’s Smash GC team, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation swirls around which tour Koepka will appear on next: the DP World Tour, where he would gain immediate eligibility, possibly with a penalty; or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV event, after life bans imposed by former commissioner Jay Monahan were softened. Why be vindictive when every returning LIV player strengthens the already dominant PGA Tour? This key issue seems partly answered. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka recently formally applied to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not extended after 2022, seeking reinstatement.
