Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Action

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager for more, Charley Hull to launch her own YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka officially withdrew from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka, known as a fierce competitor who thrives at the highest levels, had mixed motivation with LIV. In 2022, he joined LIV mainly due to injury concerns and to secure substantial retirement funds. It comes as no surprise he skips his last contractual season, although questions remain about any financial settlements and his ownership status of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation continues on which fairways Koepka will play next. He could appear on the DP World Tour immediately, likely facing a penalty, or on the PGA Tour, where he is serving a one-year suspension since his last LIV appearance, following softened lifetime bans imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. Why be vindictive when every LIV returnee benefits the established tour? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally reapplied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, which lapsed after 2022.
