Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Returns to the PGA Tour

First start already at Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to take another shot, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was a friendly agreement, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives in high-level competition, which he barely found at LIV. He originally joined LIV in 2022 because of injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. Hence, skipping the final contractual season is not surprising, although questions remain about buyouts or refunds. He remains the owner of his LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will play next. On the DP World Tour, where he would have immediate playing rights, possibly with a penalty? Or on the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, following a significant easing of previous lifetime bans by former Commissioner Jay Monahan? Why be vindictive when every high-profile LIV returnee benefits the longer-established PGA Tour? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership that was not extended after 2022 and be readmitted to the players’ circle.
