Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aims for a comeback, Charley Hull launching YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner stays connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for family. This was agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is known as a competitor who gets motivated by high-level contests, a drive that was limited at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 due to injuries possibly ending his career and to secure a substantial retirement fund. Hence, skipping the last contracted season is not surprising, though questions remain about possible buyouts or repayment of guaranteed fees. At 35, he remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as the new captain.

Speculation grows on where Koepka will play next – the DP World Tour, where he is eligible immediately, possibly with a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, after former Commissioner Jay Monahan softened the previously lifetime bans? Why hold grudges when every LIV returnee benefits the tour? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, ending his hiatus.
