Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Returns Immediately to PGA Tour

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aims for a comeback, Charley Hull launching her YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season, starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major champion intends to stay connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he found limited in LIV. After joining LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns and for financial security, it is not surprising he skips the final contract year, though questions remain about his exit terms and ownership status of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculations abound regarding where Koepka will play next. Though immediately eligible for the DP World Tour, potentially with a penalty, he faces a one-year suspension on the PGA Tour after his last LIV appearance. This ban was softened from a lifetime ban previously imposed by former commissioner Jay Monahan. The recently shared info from ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reveals Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership, leaving the circuit he did not renew after 2022.
