Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Returns to PGA Tour Play

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull launching YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This was amicably agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, a competitive type who thrives on top-level competition, found limited motivation at LIV. He joined in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a good retirement fund. The decision to forgo the final contract year is therefore not surprising, though questions remain about potential buyouts or salary repayments. Koepka remains owner of his LIV team Smash GC, which named Talor Gooch as new captain.

Speculation is rife on where Koepka will compete next: the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible, possibly with a penalty; or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, after previous lifetime bans were significantly reduced. This key question seems partially answered. ESPN reporter Mark Schlabach revealed that last Friday Koepka formally applied to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which had not been renewed after 2022, to rejoin the player ranks.
