Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Immediately Back on PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull launching YouTube channel. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the competing circuit but wants more family time. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives at the highest level, something he lacked at LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly because injury had him doubt his career’s continuation and he sought a solid retirement fund. Thus, his skipping the last contracted season is not surprising, though questions remain: Did he buy out of the contract or refund part of the guaranteed money? Does he still co-own his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch?

Speculation grows about where Koepka will appear next: DP World Tour, where he would have immediate eligibility possibly with a penalty? Or PGA Tour, where a one-year suspension has been served following his last LIV start after former Commissioner Jay Monahan’s lifetime bans were softened? Why be spiteful when any returning LIV player benefits the longer-leveraged PGA Tour? ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership not renewed after 2022.
