Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Immediately Back on PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to compete again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected: Brooks Koepka has knownly withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting on February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner stays connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly a friendly agreement, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he lacked at LIV. He initially joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns threatening his career and to secure a solid retirement fund. Therefore, skipping the last contractual season is not surprising, though questions remain about possible contract buyouts or partial refunds. He remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as the new captain.

Speculation is rife about where Koepka will appear next: DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible, possibly subject to a fine? Or PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year ban since his last LIV appearance, reduced from a lifetime ban by former Commissioner Jay Monahan? Why hold grudges if each LIV returnee benefits the PGA Tour? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reinstate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player ranks after 2022’s non-renewal.
