Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Immediately Back on PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to play again, Charley Hull launching YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf League season starting on February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This was amicably agreed upon, according to an official statement by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitive type who thrives in high-level contests, something he only somewhat found with LIV. He had switched in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a substantial retirement fund. His decision to skip the final contracted season is thus unsurprising, although questions remain about financial settlements and his continued ownership of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation thrives about which fairways Koepka will next appear on – the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV appearance, following reduced lifetime bans imposed by former commissioner Jay Monahan? Why hold grudges when every returning LIV player, especially a high-profile one, benefits the stronger established tour? According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player ranks after 2022.
