Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Immediately Back on PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to compete again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting on February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will remain connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for his family, according to an amicable agreement stated by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, known for being highly motivated in top-level competitions, had only limited motivation at LIV. Having joined LIV in 2022 due to injury concerns and aiming to secure a solid retirement fund, his decision not to play the final contractual season comes as no surprise, although questions remain about potential buyouts or salary repayments. He remains the owner of the LIV team Smash GC, which recently appointed Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculations grow about where Koepka will next play—on the DP World Tour where he would be immediately eligible, possibly with a penalty, or on the PGA Tour where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV appearance, after lifelong bans by former commissioner Jay Monahan were significantly reduced. This key issue seems partially resolved. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which had not been extended after 2022, and to be reinstated in the playing field.
