Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to compete again, Charley Hull launching on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. LIV CEO Scott McNeil said the decision was mutual. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level contests, something LIV only partially offered. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund. Hence, skipping his final contractual season is not surprising, though questions linger about financial settlements and his ownership stake in LIV’s Smash GC team, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation grows about Koepka’s next playing venues—DP World Tour, where he’d be eligible immediately likely with a penalty, or PGA Tour, where a one-year suspension remains post-LIV participation, albeit significantly reduced from lifetime bans. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, seeking reinstatement into the player roster.
