Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh makes a comeback, Charley Hull to launch a YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially opted out of the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka, a fiercely competitive player, seemed less motivated by LIV’s competitive environment. Having joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund, his decision to skip the last contracted season raises questions about potential buyouts or repayments, and whether he remains owner of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation is rife about which tours Koepka will join. On the DP World Tour, he would be eligible immediately likely facing a penalty. On the PGA Tour, he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV event, reduced from a lifetime ban by former Commissioner Jay Monahan. This ban issue now seems partly resolved: ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which he had not renewed after 2022.
