Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka, known for thriving in high-level competition, has been less motivated by LIV, having joined it in 2022 amid injury concerns and to secure his retirement funds. Questions remain whether he had to buy out his contract or return part of his guaranteed salary and whether he remains owner of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation surrounds which tours Koepka will play on next — immediately eligible for the DP World Tour, possibly with penalties, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV event, though lifetime bans by former commissioner Jay Monahan have since been softened. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka has formally applied to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not extended after 2022.
