Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to play again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season that begins February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family. This amicable agreement was confirmed by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is known for being a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he lacked at LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 primarily due to injury concerns and to secure retirement earnings. His waiver of the final contract year comes as no surprise, though questions remain about buyouts or salary repayments. He remains owner of his LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch now captain.

Speculation grows about which tours Koepka will appear on next: the DP World Tour, where he would be immediately eligible possibly for a penalty; or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV event, though previous lifetime bans by former Commissioner Jay Monahan were significantly reduced. It seems this major question is partially answered. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, previously not renewed after 2022, to rejoin the playing field.
