Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aims for a comeback, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for his family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level sports battles, something LIV offered only limited motivation. He originally joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns threatening his career and to secure a good retirement fund. Thus, skipping his last contractual season is unsurprising, though questions remain: Did he buy out his contract or repay part of the guarantee? Is he still owner of his LIV team Smash GC, which recently named Talor Gooch captain?

Speculation swirls about where Koepka will play next—possibly the DP World Tour where he instantly qualifies, perhaps with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he serves a one-year suspension since his last LIV event after former Commissioner Jay Monahan’s lifetime bans were softened? Why hold grudges when every LIV returnee, especially a star, strengthens the already dominant tour? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player pool.
