Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on the PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers; Vijay Singh aims for a comeback; Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially opted out of the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major champion remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka, known as a competitor who thrives under high-level competition, was less motivated in LIV, having joined primarily in 2022 due to injury concerns and financial reasons. Whether he had to buy out his contract or reimburse part of his guaranteed salary remains unclear. He also remains an owner of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation continues about where Koepka will next play. The DP World Tour grants him immediate playing rights, possibly with a penalty, while the PGA Tour suspended him for one year since his last LIV appearance. However, with the PGA Tour reducing lifetime bans and welcoming LIV returnees, this question seems partially resolved. ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied to reactivate his PGA Tour membership last Friday.
