Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh back in action, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, five-time major winner Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The LIV CEO Scott McNeil stated it was an amicable agreement, with Koepka needing more family time but remaining connected to the competing circuit. However, Koepka is known as a competitive athlete who thrives on top-level competition, something he rarely found at LIV. Originally joining LIV in 2022 mainly due to an injury-plagued career phase, Koepka sought to secure a solid retirement income. His waiver of the last contractual season is therefore not surprising, although questions remain about possible buyouts or repayments. Despite this, he remains the owner of the LIV Smash GC team, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Much speculation surrounds which tour’s fairways Koepka will appear on next: the DP World Tour, where he could play immediately, likely with a penalty fee, or the PGA Tour, where he’d need to serve a one-year suspension following his last LIV event, after previous lifetime bans were softened. This key question seems partially answered as ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reports Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which has not been extended since 2022.
