Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers; Vijay Singh wants to try again; Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will stay connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for family. According to LIV CEO Scott McNeil, this was a mutual agreement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives in high-level contests, which he found limited in LIV. His 2022 switch to LIV was mainly because of injury concerns and securing a substantial retirement fund. His forfeiting the final contractual season raises questions if he had to buy out or refund part of his guaranteed salary. He remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, which recently named Talor Gooch captain.

Speculations now focus on where Koepka will play next: The DP World Tour, where he could play immediately, possibly with a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year ban after his last LIV event, although suspensions imposed by former Commissioner Jay Monahan have been significantly softened. This key question appears partially answered. ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not extended after 2022, seeking readmission to the players’ circle.
