First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh is back too, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.
As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for family. This was mutually agreed upon, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka, a competitive type who thrives on high-level competition, was less motivated at LIV. He had joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injury concerns and to secure a comfortable retirement fund. His choice to skip the final contracted season is thus unsurprising, though questions remain about possible buyouts or repayment of guaranteed money. He remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.
Speculation is rife about which fairways Koepka will next appear on: the DP World Tour where he would be immediately eligible (possibly with a penalty), or the PGA Tour where he serves a one-year suspension since his last LIV event after prior lifetime bans from former Commissioner Jay Monahan were reduced. It seems he has formally applied, according to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, to reinstate his PGA Tour membership after 2022 and rejoin the playing field.
