Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at Farmers; Vijay Singh aiming for a comeback, Charley Hull launching a YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the competing circuit but needs more family time. This was reportedly agreed upon amicably, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. However, Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives on top-level competition, which he found limited in LIV. Having joined LIV in 2022 primarily due to injury concerns and to secure his retirement funds, his opting out of the final contracted season is not surprising, though questions remain about contract buyouts and team ownership.

Speculation abounds about which tour Koepka will appear on next — the DP World Tour where he would be eligible immediately, possibly with a fine, or the PGA Tour where he faces a one-year suspension from his last LIV appearance, although lifetime bans have been considerably softened. The significant question seems partially answered as ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported that last Friday Koepka formally applied to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which had not been extended past 2022.
