Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh aims for a comeback, Charley Hull to launch YouTube channel soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major champion will remain connected with the rival circuit but needs more time for family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, a fierce competitor who thrives on high-level competition, hadn’t fully settled into LIV. He joined LIV in 2022 mainly due to injuries threatening his career and the desire for a solid retirement fund. His decision to skip the last contractual season is not surprising, though questions remain about financial settlements and if he will remain owner of his LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Speculation rises about Koepka’s future fairways: DP World Tour, where he might be immediately eligible, possibly with a penalty? Or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV event, though former commissioner Jay Monahan’s lifetime bans were softened. Returning prominent LIV players benefit the PGA Tour’s leverage. Reports from ESPN’s Mark Schlabach reveal Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not extended after 2022.
