First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh is back at it, Charley Hull to launch on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.
As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will remain connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was reportedly a friendly agreement according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is known as a competitor who thrives under high-level competition, which he lacked at LIV. In 2022, he joined LIV primarily because of injury concerns and to secure a solid retirement fund, so skipping the last contractual season is not surprising, although questions remain about possible buyouts or paybacks. He remains the owner of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.
Speculations about where Koepka will play next are rife. DP World Tour eligibility is immediate, possibly with a penalty. On the PGA Tour, he faces a previously imposed one-year suspension since his last LIV appearance, after lifetime bans were significantly reduced by the former commissioner Jay Monahan. Why hold grudges when LIV returnees, especially notable ones, benefit the stronger established tours? ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach reported that Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which had not been renewed after 2022.
