Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Is Back on the PGA Tour Now

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to give it another go, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

Brooks Koepka has officially withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion has agreed amicably with LIV CEO Scott McNeil to stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. Koepka, known as a fierce competitor motivated by top-level competition, found limited motivation in LIV due to injuries and a career outlook back in 2022. Speculation surrounds whether he paid a buyout or returned part of his guaranteed salary, and whether he remains the owner of the LIV team Smash GC, now captained by Talor Gooch.

Debate continues about which tours Koepka might play for next—DP World Tour, where he could play immediately possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faced a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, suspended amid softened lifetime bans previously imposed. According to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally requested reinstatement of his PGA Tour membership last Friday.

Update: The news spread quickly Monday evening that Koepka is reinstated on the PGA Tour effective immediately, set to tee off at the Farmers Insurance Open in late January at Torrey Pines, with participation at the WM Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale confirmed as well. This was enabled by a new \”Returning Member Program\” allowing select LIV players to rejoin the PGA Tour without suspension, considering sporting merits like Koepka’s 2023 PGA Championship win. PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp emphasized this as a one-time opportunity ending February 2, with no guarantee of recurrence. Koepka must donate five million dollars to PGA Tour charity and faces exclusions from the 2026 FedEx Cup bonus system and capital participation program for five years.

DeChambeau Confirms LIV Start for 2026

Bryson DeChambeau officially confirmed he will play in the LIV Golf League in 2026 alongside team members Charles Howell III, Paul Casey, and Anirban Lahiri. However, no general contract extension has been announced, fueling speculation on behind-the-scenes agreements following Koepka’s departure.

Vijay Singh Returns to PGA Tour at 62

In a surprising move, 62-year-old Vijay Singh is returning to the PGA Tour using his career money list exemption, starting this week at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Previously active on the PGA Tour Champions, Singh holds five titles including the Senior Players Championship.

TGL Sees Decline in TV Ratings for Season Two

The Tomorrow’s Golf League faces weaker TV ratings without Tiger Woods. The Season Two opener on ABC attracted 646,000 viewers, down from 919,000 the prior year on ESPN, while the second match drew just 354,000. The league must find a new \”eye catcher\” as Woods remains unrivaled in drawing viewers.
