Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh still eager, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has officially opted out of the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh. The five-time major champion will stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka, a fierce competitor who thrives on high-level competition, was less motivated in LIV and initially joined mainly due to injury fears and to secure a solid retirement fund. Questions remain about whether he had to buy out his contract or repay part of his guaranteed salary. He remains owner of the LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as team captain.

Speculation intensifies on where Koepka will play next—immediately eligible for the DP World Tour perhaps with a penalty, or the PGA Tour where a one-year suspension after his last LIV event hangs. Following policy relaxations, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership and rejoin the player pool, as reported by ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach.
