Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Returns Immediately to PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh ready for a comeback, Charley Hull soon launching on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major champion will remain connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for his family, according to LIV CEO Scott McNeil’s official statement. Koepka, known as a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, was less motivated within LIV. Having joined LIV in 2022 amid injury concerns and to secure retirement funds, his decision to skip the final contracted season is unsurprising though questions remain: Did he buy out his contract, repay part of his guaranteed fee? Does the 35-year-old remain owner of his LIV team Smash GC, which has appointed Talor Gooch as the new captain?

Speculations abound about which fairways Koepka will next appear on. The DP World Tour would grant immediate playing rights, possibly with a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, though lifetime bans by former Commissioner Jay Monahan have been significantly softened. It seems Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership after it was not renewed post-2022 and to be reinstated as a tour player, according to ESPN journalist Mark Schlabach.
