Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Returns Immediately to PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh eager to return, Charley Hull launching on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the competing circuit but needs more time for family. This was amicably agreed upon, according to an official statement by LIV CEO Scott McNeil. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, something he lacked with LIV. His 2022 switch to LIV was largely due to injury concerns and securing a retirement fund. The decision to forgo the final contractual season raises questions around possible buyouts and whether he remains owner of his LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation surrounds where Koepka will play next: DP World Tour, possibly with a penalty? Or PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension after his last LIV appearance, which has since been softened from lifetime bans by previous commissioner Jay Monahan. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally requested reinstatement of his PGA Tour membership last Friday, seeking to rejoin the playing field.
