Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Returns Immediately to PGA Tour

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh wants to compete again, Charley Hull soon on YouTube. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner will stay connected to the rival circuit but needs more family time. According to LIV CEO Scott McNeil, this was a friendly agreement. Koepka is a competitor who thrives on high-level competition, which he lacked somewhat in LIV. He switched in 2022 mainly because of injury concerns and to secure a comfortable retirement fund. So, skipping his last contracted season is less surprising, though questions remain about buyouts or penalties. He remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, with Talor Gooch as new captain.

Speculation swirls about which tour Koepka will appear on next: the DP World Tour, where he could play immediately possibly paying a penalty, or the PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension following LIV participation. This bans were softened from lifetime bans by former commissioner Jay Monahan. According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactive his PGA Tour membership and be reinstated into the player pool after not renewing since 2022.
