Membership Renewed, No Ban: Koepka Back on PGA Tour Immediately

First start already at the Farmers, Vijay Singh returns, Charley Hull launches on YouTube soon. The Back Nine.

As expected, Brooks Koepka has withdrawn from the 2026 LIV Golf season starting February 7 in Riyadh; the five-time major winner remains connected to the rival circuit but needs more time for family. This was reportedly agreed amicably, per LIV CEO Scott McNeil. However, Koepka is a competitive player who thrives on top-level competition, something he only partially experienced at LIV. He moved there in 2022 mainly due to injuries and to secure a solid retirement fund. Thus, giving up the final contract year is not surprising, though questions remain about buyouts or returning guaranteed money. He remains owner of LIV team Smash GC, which named Talor Gooch as captain.

Speculation abounds where Koepka will compete next: DP World Tour, where he might play immediately, likely with a penalty? Or PGA Tour, where he faces a one-year suspension since his last LIV event, after life bans imposed by former commissioner Jay Monahan were softened? Why hold grudges when any LIV returnee strengthens the long-dominant tour? According to ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, Koepka formally applied last Friday to reactivate his PGA Tour membership, which was not renewed after 2022.
